The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has claimed in a plea for Kejriwal’s judicial custody in the excise policy case that Kejriwal stated Vijay Nair, one of the accused, used to report to AAP leaders Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, not him. The investigative agency had nabbed Vijay Nair, AAP’s former communication head, along with members of the southern group – K. Kavita, Sarath Reddy, Raghav Magunta, and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy – and other AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh in connection with the excise policy case.
A Delhi court put CM Kejriwal in judicial custody till 15th April on Monday, while the AAP Supreme Court filed an application demanding access to three books – Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, and How Prime Ministers Decide. When the ED’s custody in the alleged money laundering case related to the excise policy scam ended, he was presented before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court. Special Judge Baweja had extended his ED custody on 28th March, citing ‘sufficient grounds’. He had allowed him to meet his family members and lawyers.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Granted Bail in ED Summons Case.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail by a Delhi court on Saturday in response to Enforcement Directorate (ED) summonses related to the liquor policy case. Kejriwal appeared before the court following complaints from the ED about non-compliance with the summonses.
The Rouse Avenue Court, considering the alleged offence as bailable, approved regular bail for Kejriwal. The court directed him to provide bail bonds worth 15,000 and a surety of a similar amount.
A Sessions Court had previously declined to stay the summonses issued against Kejriwal by the Court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Divya Malhotra.
Kejriwal had been summoned to appear before the court on March 16 after the ED, for the second time, approached the Rouse Avenue Court with a complaint against him for allegedly not adhering to its summonses. The ED had issued eight summonses against Kejriwal in the liquor policy case.
Earlier, on February 3, the ED filed a complaint in the court under Criminal Procedure Code sections 190 and 200 after Kejriwal skipped its summonses for the fifth time. The complaint was filed for not complying with the agency’s summonses issued under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and for failing to join the investigation. The court then instructed Kejriwal to appear before it on February 17.
Kejriwal had appeared before the court on the said date via video-conferencing, citing his inability to appear physically due to the confidence motion and Budget session in the Assembly. He had assured the court at that time that he would physically appear before it on March 16.
