1. Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag

‘It’s true what they say – it’s not we who control money, it’s the money that controls us. When there’s only a little, it behaves meekly; when it grows, it becomes brash and has its way with us.’From a cramped, ant-infested house to a spacious bungalow, a family finds itself making a transition in many ways. The narrator, a sensitive young man, is numbed by the swirl around him. All he can do is flee every day to an old-world cafe, where he seeks solace from an oracular waiter. As members of the family realign their equations and desires, new strands are knotted, others come apart, and conflict brews dangerously in the background. Masterfully translated from the Kannada by Srinath Perur, Ghachar Ghochar is a suspenseful, playful, Read More..

2. Jaun Elia: Ek Ajab Ghazab Shayar

A very well-written piece of work that does justice to the legacy of a great poet. What I really liked about the book is that it not only provide an access to the poetry of Janaab Jaun Elia but also provides a backdrop to it by providing an account of his personal life, which proves to be a much more fulfilling reading experience.

The meaning of difficult Urdu words, given in the footnote on the same page, makes it a smooth read for even an uninitiated reader. My heartiest regard to the author, who very graciously provided his contact number at the back cover, for enriching us with this very well-researched book.
The book will let you know about Juan in much detail, Read More..

3. Fragile Strings by Arushi Vats

Poet has described love, heartbreak, and healing in her poems. She has tried to describe those feelings which we feel when in love when that loved one hurts us and leave us alone, and then how we try to pull ourselves again and again.

Some of her poems have a deep meaning which explains everything she wanted her readers to experience i.e. the essence of love via poetry. Poet has used simple yet elegant language which made poetry more beautiful and easy to understand.

The author has done great work! the words she used in these poems to describe the situation are just tremendous Read More..

5. Ibaarat by Vikram Gill

Ibaarat (Composition) is a collection of ghazals written by Vikram Gill. In this book, the poet shares his life lessons and bares his soul. The daily experiences, trials, emotions, and anecdotes form the basis of his poems through which he can eloquently express his situation or circumstance that does not otherwise allow him to.

There are recurrent themes of compromise, sacrifice, delayed understanding, and ultimate acceptance across the poems that are not very different from life itself, and the poet has captured them in a casual, yet undeniable manner.

This book feels like a work of life experience and toil. Read More..

6. She by Mahak Chowdhury

“She is a fresher to the archetype of beauty, that lies in hourglass-like bodies but not in timeless inner geniality.” She always keeps her words to herself, all her rhythms and secrets buried in her brown diary.

Her poetry has molded itself with time. Her heart and mind are often in a brawl for the choices she makes as she finds love in shrouded corners. As she comes face to face with the rules of society, will she be able to finally learn to love herself?

The way the author wrote her deep thought in a Read More..

7. Broken Thoughts Fix Me by Anshuman Gupta

It’s making weird faces at each other. It’s laughing till our stomachs hurt. It’s fighting with each other, but also for. It’s making promises, but also holding on to them. It’s looking at each other, but also out for. It’s falling, but into each other’s arms. Its evening strolls in bustling markets and late-night drives on empty streets.

It’s friendship. It’s family. It is everything and anything you want it to be. It’s something as simple as a hot chocolate on a cold day, something as grand as the Taj Mahal. It is emotions, and words, and thoughts. And how they heal.

8. Constellation of Letters by Naysa Nambiar Seth

This debut poetry collection is weaved around that very phrase with three parts: the sun, the moon, and the stars. Each section is filled with stunning and raw prose that is sure to captivate the mind of the reader. The words are tinted by the lens of a 14-year-old girl who wrote it and her opinions on issues that are very much real and relevant to our everyday world. It provides a fresh perspective, bringing sensitive topics to a new light in the form of honest, thought-provoking poetry.

9. Coffee Mug by Anand

Coffee Mug – This compilation of Haiku, ghazals, poems, etc. is an artistic creation of the author. On every page of this book, there are sweet and sour moments of common life, whose beautiful composition touches the mind of the reader. While the short lines of the haiku present big ideas, the simple meaning of the heavy words of the Ghazalnuma lightens the heart. Just as Mahiya and Couplets describe different tastes, poems inspire us to look at the world from a different perspective. This book would help you to find peace and relaxation in today’s busy life, just hold ‘Coffee Mug’ in both hands – one to amuse one’s tongue, the other to amuse one’s soul. – Rounak, New Delhi (India)

10. Paradox by Nidhi Dhanwani

This anthology portrays the perspective and idea of what poetry means to the poet. The writing is inspired by personal experiences, wishful thinking and numerous artists the author fell in love with. This book aims to be a sanctuary to those seeking a sense of resemblance and love on all kinds of days. It encapsulates the author’s emotions as she balances her struggles by befriending words. The motivation behind this piece of work is to simply introduce you to her dearest friends – her words and her poetry.
