Arvind Kejriwal, former Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, has announced that if re-elected, his government will waive all outstanding water bills in 2025. Speaking to residents at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar on Saturday, he encouraged Delhiites to hold off on paying their water bills, claiming that the current bills issued are inaccurate.

Kejriwal shared, “I am a mechanical engineer by training and started my career at Tata. I don’t do typical politics – I focus on actual work. In the past, I’ve waived electricity and water bills, which led to my arrest. I’ll waive these water bills again once we’re back in office. Trust me on this – I’ve done it before and will do it again.”

Delhi’s Services Stand Strong, Says Kejriwal

Highlighting the improvements his government has made, Kejriwal mentioned that thanks to his leadership, Delhi now enjoys 24/7 electricity, unlike many other states. He noted, “I’m an IIT graduate, and under my leadership, Delhi doesn’t experience power cuts anymore. Electing educated leaders makes a difference. We’ve done more for unorganized colonies than any other government.”

Kejriwal also pointed out that people from neighboring states, like Uttar Pradesh, often come to Delhi for medical treatment, despite the availability of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in UP.

“Vote for Those Who Serve You,” Urges Kejriwal

Kejriwal urged voters to support leaders who genuinely work for them. He questioned what the central government has contributed to Delhi, inviting people to compare the efforts of AAP with those of the central administration. “In the upcoming elections, vote for those who have consistently worked for you,” he stated, adding that AAP is also working on improving the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
