In a significant move, the Delhi government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has introduced the ‘Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna’, a scheme designed to offer financial assistance to women aged 18 years and above. Eligible women will receive a monthly stipend of ?1,000 under this program.

The scheme was announced by Delhi’s Finance Minister, Atishi, during the presentation of the Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. A substantial budget of ?2,000 crore has been allocated to ensure the successful execution of the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna.

At the Budget unveiling, Atishi underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to meeting the financial requirements of women and promoting their economic self-reliance. This initiative has the potential to positively impact a significant portion of Delhi’s female population by providing them with a steady income stream, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life.

During her Budget address in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi outlined the government’s vision of ‘Ram Rajya’ and highlighted the transformations witnessed by Delhi over the past decade under the governance of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). She also proposed a substantial allocation of ?16,396 crore for the education sector in her maiden Budget speech.

“I am not just presenting the tenth Budget but a picture of changing Delhi. Kejriwal came as a ray of hope. We are all inspired by Ram Rajya. We are working hard towards realizing the dream of Ram Rajya,” Atishi stated emphatically in the assembly, illustrating the government’s dedication to uplifting the lives of Delhi’s women and transforming the city into a model of prosperity and progress.
