On Tuesday, the police arrested a man, Sahil Gahlot, after a woman was found dead in the freezer of a roadside eatery in south-west Delhi’s Najafgarh locality. Preliminary investigation revealed that Sahil and the woman had been in a relationship, but she was against his marriage to someone else.

When the police was informed about the woman’s murder, they immediately reached the location and discovered the body in the deep freezer. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Vikram Singh said that further investigation is underway.

According to one of the officers, the woman was trying to convince Sahil to marry her and even threatened to file a report against his family members. When she learned of his wedding on February 10, she became upset.

The police are now trying to figure out the exact sequence of events that led to the murder, such as when she was killed, if anyone else was involved, and when Sahil put the body in the freezer, as well as his plans for disposing of the body.
