Man arrested by the police on Saturday after he was allegedly involved in trafficking of Nepalese girls to the Gulf countries on the pretext of giving them jobs.
New Delhi: A 33-year-old man, carrying a cash reward of Rs one lakh on his head, was arrested by the police on Saturday. He was allegedly involved in trafficking of Nepalese girls to the Gulf countries on the pretext of giving them jobs.
According to news agency PTI, the accused was identified as Lopsang Lama. A resident of Wazirabad and hailed from Okhal Doonga district in eastern Nepal. The police told the agency that Lama was involved in trafficking of Nepalese girls.
On July 25 last year, a team of Delhi Commission for Women rescued 16 Nepalese girls from a house in Munirka village. A case was registered at Vasant Vihar police station in this regard. Meanwhile, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) told agency, the preliminary investigation revealed that the rescued girls were confined in a rented house of Lama and his associates for about 20-22 days.
They were planning to send these girls to the Gulf countries through illegal means on the pretext of giving them various job offers. Lama had also taken their passports and other documents so that the girls could be forced to stay here, police officer added.
Later, the rescued girls told police that Lama had trafficked five Nepalese girls to Kuwait and two to Iraq. However, on Saturday, a trap was laid at the spot after police received information that Lama would come to meet his associate near ISBT Kashmere Gate.
The police successfully caught him and he confessed his involvement in the alleged case. Reportedly, during interrogation, Lama disclosed that he along with his brother-in-law and other associates were running a racket of human trafficking by sending Nepalese girls to various Gulf countries.
The girls who were trafficked were also sexually exploited, police told agency.

New rule on free electricity in Delhi, subsidy will not be available without applying from today, CM Kejriwal announced

Which will open the form on WhatsApp. Messages will also be sent to those whose mobile numbers are registered. The number of people who will fill the form on 31 October. They will get the benefit of the scheme. On filling the form in the next month, the bill of the previous month will have to be submitted. He said that his government would run door-to-door awareness campaign regarding this.
The facility will be applicable from October 1
Arvind Kejriwal said, earlier there used to be a lot of electricity in Delhi. We fixed it. Now electricity is available 24 hours. Electricity is available free of cost in Delhi. The money saved by stopping corruption is giving convenience to the people. He told that there are 58 lakh consumers of electricity in Delhi, out of which 30 lakh electricity bills come to zero. Half the bills of 17 lakh consumers come. We will give subsidy to those who ask for subsidy. This facility will be applicable from 1st October.
