It’s been a month now since actor Irrfan Khan left everyone for his heavenly abode after battling with a tumour for several months. Remembering him on his monthiversary, wife Sutapa Sikdar shared a few throwback pictures with her husband and penned a heartfelt note.

On Friday, it’s exactly a month since Irrfan died. Remembering the moments the duo shared, Sutapa took to her Facebook account and shared some bright pictures with Irrfan. Alongside she wrote, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about.” It’s just a matter of time…milenge baaten karenge…. Till we meet again (sic).”

One of the images shows Irrfan lying down on grass and gazing into the camera while the other one shows the actor taking a selfie in the same spot, with Sutapa holding him from the back.

Reportedly, villages in Maharashtra’s Igatpuri paid a tribute to Irrfan and renamed the area where his farmhouse stands to Hero-chi-Wadi (neighbourhood of a hero in Marathi).

Earlier also, Sutapa shared one of Irrfan’s most loved songs which he used to listen to when being sad. The caption reads, “My eternal love to him and gratitude to the universe and prayers for everyone in these extraordinary times while I pray for him… The song he loved and listened when sad and it soothes me now in the most difficult times.. my eyes can’t see you but you remain in my vision (Sic).”

The self-effacing National Award winner, who acted in films as diverse as Life of Pi, The Namesake, Haasil had stayed away from the public eye after being diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour in 2018. In a statement released after the Piku actor’s death, his family said Khan spent his final hours “surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about.”

‘Kagaaz’ to be screened in UP village using mobile movie theatre technology

Published

on

Makers of the upcoming Pankaj Tripathi-starrer Kagaaz will hold special screening of the film on January 8 using the mobile movie theatre technology in Sitapur village of Uttar Pradesh, where the story is based.

“Nothing makes me happier to know that ‘Kaagaz’, our labour of love, would reach a wider audience, especially in the interiors where watching cinema is still a far fetched dream,” said the film’s director Satish Kaushik.

“This mobile theatre format reaches viewers instead of viewers going to the theatre. I am so glad that ‘Kaagaz’ will reach so many people through this release,” Kaushik added.

The story of the film is based in a real-life incident that happened to a farmer and social activist named Lal Bihari. In the film, Tripathi plays a band master who discovers he is officially dead in government records, and decides to fight to set things right.

The film also features Amar Upadhyay and Monal Gajjar, and will stream on Zee5.

Actress Nehha Pendse is the new Anita Bhabi on the popular sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. She says playing the character, which was earlier portrayed by actress Saumya Tandon, is a huge responsibility.

“There has been a lot of anticipation and speculation for months now on who will be India’s favourite Anita Bhabi. The audience has been equally excited and eagerly waiting to know more about the new Anita Bhabi. I am ecstatic and delighted to be a part of a cult show, ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai’ that has entertained the audience for over six years,” said Nehha.

“It is a huge responsibility and no doubt, there are some big shoes to fill. But I am sure the audience will shower their new Anita Bhabi with as much love and affection. I am eagerly looking forward to starting shooting soon,” she added.

On her role in the show, Nehha shared: “There is a lot much in store, and I would not like to divulge too many details yet, to keep a certain surprise element for the audience. But one thing I can assure you, there is much more oomph, glamour, humour and fun in store.”

The comedy show revolves around Modern Colony’s neighbouring couples, The Mishras and The Tiwaris. Believing in the thought that the grass is greener on the other side, Vibhuti Narayan Mishra (actor Aasif Sheikh) and Manmohan Tiwari (actor Rohitashv Gour) are constantly trying to impress the other’s wife.

“Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai” airs on &TV.
