With the knock of winters in Delhi, pollution has also started spreading its feet. The Meteorological Institute has issued an alert for deteriorating air quality in Delhi. A 6-day alert has been issued in the capital regarding air quality before Diwali. Meanwhile, the Delhi government has talked about a reduction in air pollution from the smog tower.

Smog towers reduce pollution by 70 to 80 percent within 50 meters distance

The Delhi government has talked about a reduction in pollution, citing the interim report of last year’s study of IIT Mumbai. It has been claimed that the smog tower reduces air pollution by 70 to 80 percent up to 50 meters and by 15 to 20 percent at a distance of 300 meters. Also, smog towers up to a distance of 300 meters have been effective in reducing air pollution.
