Delhi Woman Strangles 21-Month-Old Nephew in Park, Sits with Body
A 21-month-old boy died after his aunt allegedly strangled him in a park in the Mukherji Nagar area of Delhi. Police have taken the woman into custody and started an inquiry to find out the reason behind the crime.
The incident took place on Friday afternoon. At around 1:30 pm, the police got a call about a woman attacking a small child in the park. The caller said the accused, Azra, had choked the boy.
A gardener working there saw the act and shouted for help. People nearby rushed to the spot. One of the locals pulled the child away from the woman and took him to the hospital, where doctors said he was dead.
The child, Hadi, lived in Old Seelampur with his parents Adil and Uzma. He had come to his mother’s family home. His maternal uncle informed the police about the incident.
After the act, the woman was found unconscious. She was taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital for a medical check. Police later placed her under arrest.
The body has been sent for post-mortem at the same hospital. A case has been filed and further action is being taken. Police are trying to find out what led to the killing.
