CM Atishi: 150 Mohalla Buses to Begin Service in Two Weeks.
Delhi is all set to welcome Mohalla Buses on its roads in the next two weeks. Chief Minister Atishi shared the update and said these buses will help solve the city’s last-mile connectivity issues.
Trial and Facility Check
CM Atishi recently visited the Kushak Nala Depot to inspect the electric low-floor Mohalla Buses. She mentioned that trials have been successfully conducted on two routes. These buses are specially designed to operate in crowded areas where larger buses cannot reach.
Modern Features
The 9-meter-long buses come equipped with modern features and can run up to 200 kilometers on just an hour’s charge. Atishi stated that 150 buses will begin operating soon, with plans to expand the fleet to 2,140 buses by 2025. The goal is to connect every colony in Delhi through these buses.
Improved Last-Mile Connectivity
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), CM Atishi wrote, “Mohalla Buses will be a game changer for last-mile connectivity in Delhi. Over the past 10 years, Delhi has built a world-class public transport system, and we’ll keep working to make it even better.”
A New Chapter in Delhi’s Transport
This initiative not only aims to improve transportation but also offers an eco-friendly option for congested areas. The launch of Mohalla Buses marks a big step toward making public transport accessible and efficient for everyone in Delhi.
