Cannes 2019: Sonam Kapoor transforms into modern-day maharani, sports two different looks.

The latest Bollywood celebs to grace Cannes this year are Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Before Sonam’s red carpet appearance, the actor shared pictures in beautiful gowns to keep the mood going.

Sonam shared two sets of pictures on Instagram on Monday, one is a beautiful Elie Saab-designed purple gown and another creamed-coloured, riched embroidered Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla-designed off-shoulder gown for the Chopard La Nuit Des Rois dinner party. The purple outfit was for press conference at Cannes.

Sharing the purple dress look, Sonam wrote: “@eliesaabworld for press all day everyday” while for the dinner party, later in the evening, she shared another lot of pictures and wrote: “For the @chopard #lanuitdesrois dinner party in @abujanisandeepkhosla”

Earlier in the day, the Bollywood fashionista, who along with sister Rhea Kapoor reached the French Riviera on Sunday for the ongoing 72nd Cannes Film Festival, stunned fans with her gorgeous looks in an exquisite red gown. Looking ravishing and fresh in the red dress by Valentino, she opted for a fresh face of makeup with nude pink lips and beautiful eye makeup to round off her look.

The ongoing Cannes Film Festival, which started on May 14, has seen a string of Indian celebrities making their red carpet appearances. Bollywood divas who have ascended the red carpet so far include Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Huma Qureshi, Diana Penty, Hina Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The festival will go on till May 25.

Last seen in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Sonam has been busy shooting for her next film, The Zoya Factor. Based on the book of the same name by Anuja Chauhan, the film also stars Malayalam sensation Dulquer Salmaan. The film, which was reportedly set to release in June this year, has been postponed to September, owing to the commencement of ICC Cricket World Cup in May-end.

The makers of the much-awaited biographical drama Shakuntala Devi have finally dropped a motion poster revealing the date of its trailer release. With countless achievements and a never-before-seen journey of the charming mathematician, Vidya Balan in and as Shakuntala Devi is all set to make your head spin with complex calculations, with the upcoming biopic of the math wizard.

Faster than a calculator and a human-computer, the motion poster revealed that the trailer for the much-awaited new film will drop on 15th of July. Shakuntala Devi has been directed by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment).

Sharing the same on her official Instagram handle, Vidya wrote, “Get ready to meet the genius! Trailer out tomorrow. Meet #ShakuntalaDeviOnPrime July 31, on @primevideoin (sic).”

Shakuntala Devi also stars Sanya Malhotra who will be seen playing the role of Shakuntala Devi’s daughter with whom the genius enjoyed a complicated but extraordinary relationship, alongside Jisshu Sengupta and Amit Sadh in pivotal roles. The screenplay is written by Anu Menon and Nayanika Mahtani, while the dialogues are penned by Ishita Moitra.

Shakuntala genius was first discovered at the age of 5 when she solved a math problem meant for 18-year-old students. Though she never received any formal education, her talent for numbers also earned her a place in the 1982 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records, says an IANS report.

The film will start streaming from July 31st, 2020. Due to the pandemic, theatres all across the globe have been shut and therefore the makers of the film have decided for a digital release.

Ayushmann Khurrana: It was great to shoot again after so many months

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who has returned to the sets for an advertisement in Chandigarh, finds it great to be back in action.

“It was just great to be back on the sets and shoot again after so many months. We all have been at home and we all have been waiting to get back to what we were doing,” Ayushmann said.

“Things will have to limp back to normal and with all the necessary safety precautions, we will all go out and work.”

The actor says he had a great time shooting in Chandigarh, his hometown.

“I set foot on a set for the first time since we went into lockdown and I saw how people have prepared themselves for the new normal. I was completely at ease,” he added.

Ayushmann is in Chandigarh with his family to spend time with his parents. The actor recently shared that the Khurranas have purchased a new family home.

The Khurrana family – parents P. Khurrana and Poonam, Ayushmann and his wife Tahira, and Aparshakti and his wife Akriti – bought a house in Panchkula, a satellite town of Chandigarh.

On the work front, Ayushmann was recently seen in Shoojit Sircar’s digital release, Gulabo Sitabo, scripted by Juhi Chaturvedi and co-starring Amitabh Bachchan.

Armaan Malik postpones song release as mark of respect for Sushant Singh Rajput

As a gesture of goodwill, singer Armaan Malik has postponed the release of his new song.

“I just learned that the trailer of Dil Bechara also releases on July 6, and as a mark of utmost respect for Sushant Singh Rajput, we as a team have collectively decided to postpone the release of our upcoming single ‘Zara thehro’ to July 8. Thank you for your patience,” he tweeted on Sunday.

The young singer also wrote, “Watching Sushant on and off-screen always made me smile. His loss continues to feel personal. Tomorrow, when we watch the trailer of #DilBechara, let us celebrate his boundless talent, his enthusiasm and more importantly HIM.”

Dil Bechara is Sushant’s last film. It is the official remake of 2014 Hollywood romantic drama The Fault In Our Stars, based on John Green’s popular novel of the same name.

Sushant had allegedly committed suicide at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
