Moto G Stylus 5G with Snapdragon 480 SoC goes official: Price, specifications and more
The 4G version of the smartphone was launched in 2020 but the 5G variant is different not only in terms of design but also comes with new features.
After a series of leaks and rumours, Motorola has finally unveiled the Moto G Stylus 5G. The Lenovo-owned company has launched the smartphone in the United States. The Moto G Stylus is the cheapest smartphone to arrive with a Stylus. The 4G version of the smartphone was launched in 2020 but the 5G variant is different not only in terms of design but also comes with new features. Motorola is yet to reveal its plan of launching smartphones in other markets including India.
Considering India is a market where there are more budget/ mid-range phone seekers than the premium ones, Moto G Stylus 5G might attract a lot of takers. One of the prime reasons could be the price and the Stylus that is included with the phone at that price point. Motorola has so far stuck to launching mid-range and budget phones in the Indian market. The only premium devices that were launched in the last two-three years include the Moto Razr, Moto Edge. Moto G Stylus 5G: Price and availability
Moto G Stylus 5G has been launched in the United States at a price of $399 (approximately Rs 29,121). The smartphone will go on sale in the US starting June 14. The G Stylus will only be available in the Cosmic Emerald colour. It can be bought from the company’s official website, Best Buy, Walmart, B&H Photo and Amazon.
Motorola is yet to announce whether it plans to launch the smartphone in India. It would be nice if Motorola did, but the company didn’t launch the other two versions of the phone, so this launch also seems unlikely.
Moto G Stylus 5G: Specifications
Moto G Stylus 5G features a 6.8-inch LCD full HD+ display with a resolution of 2,400×1,080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Moto G Stylus 5G runs on Android 11 with Motorola’s My UX skin on top.
In terms of camera, the smartphone has a quad-rear camera setup which includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor along with an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel for selfies.
The smartphone houses a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging.

Apple iPhone 9 Plus in the works along with iPhone 9, iOS 14 code reveals
There have been several reports on a new low-cost iPhone 9/iPhone SE 2 which was expected to launch this month. Turns out Apple is working on another iPhone possibly iPhone 9 Plus which would most likely debut with the iPhone 9.
9to5Mac found several details of an iPhone 9 Plus along with the iPhone 9 on iOS 14 code. Both the iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus will run on the A13 Bionic chipset. The report also reveals the new iPhones will indeed house a Home button which was discontinued after the iPhone 8 series. With a Home button, the iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus will support Touch ID for biometric authentication. Face ID will be one premium feature the new iPhones will lack.
But the iPhone 9 series will be able to use Apple Pay, scan NFC tags in the background and come with the Express Transit feature as well. These features are available on the iPhone XS and above. There’s no mention of the screen size of the iPhone 9 Plus although we know it will be bigger than the iPhone 9.
As for the iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2, it has been rumoured to feature a 4.7-inch LCD display. Apple could launch it in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB. The low-cost iPhone is also expected to be priced around $399 (Rs 28,500 approx) which is the same price the iPhone SE launched at.
The iPhone SE 2 was first expected to launch at Apple’s annual March event which was reportedly cancelled due to coronavirus fears. Apple is still rumoured to unveil a new MacBook and iPad Pro this week.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip enters in South Korean markets
Samsung’s most awaited release ‘Galaxy Z Flip’ made to the market on Friday as the company aims to popularise the foldable form factor in the market.
Keeping the view in mind, the world’s biggest smartphone maker held an exclusive sale in its Digital Plaza stores in Seoul on Thursday. Total 900 Galaxy Z Flip was put up for sale and within first few hours, all the Purple devices were sold out. The black model of the device lasted till 1800 hours, reported GSM Arena.
As per the company, official sale of Galaxy Z Flip began 0900 hours at local online and offline stores.
Industry insiders expect 20,000 Galaxy Z Flip smartphones to be distributed to local vendors in the first week – a nearly 10-fold increase from the initial volume of the Galaxy Fold, Samsung’s first foldable smartphone, launched last year.
Due to limited volume, they predicted that not all retailers in South Korea will have the Galaxy Z Flip in stock, but customers reports suggest that customer will not have to wait as they did for the Galaxy Fold.
Experts have precited that the company may set a record of selling 3 million units of the smartphone globally this year.
Galaxy Z Flip, which bends in half vertically, is priced at 1.65 million won ($1,395) in South Korea, roughly 700,000 won cheaper than the Galaxy Fold’s launch price.
In the coming week, a limited edition of the Galaxy Z Flip, in collaboration with U.S. fashion brand Thom Browne, comes with a price tag of 2.97 million won.
The Galaxy Z Flip uses the industry’s first ultrathin glass cover on top of the OLED screen, making it more durable and scratch-resistant compared with plastic displays.
It comes with a 6.7-inch foldable main display and a 1.1-inch cover display on the front of the handset that allows users to check the time and notifications.
